Lionel Ellis (1903-1988 English)Born in Plymouth 1903, Ellis went on to become a painter, wood-engraver, modeller & teacher, specialising in Flowers, horses & portraits. He studied at Plymouth Scool of Art & Royal College of Art. Won a travelling scholarship and attended the Atelier Colarossi in Paris & Italy. He exhibited extensively, including in the Royal Academy and the National Society of Painters, Sculptures and Printmakers. His work is held in numerous Public Collections including the V&A and the British Museum.
Condition is good with only a few minor age related scuffs and would benefit from a clean.
