John Falconer Slater (1857-1937) was a Northumbrian artist, based in Whitley Bay. He is recognised as being one of the earliest British artists to adopt the impressionist technique of painting. He exhibited throughout the United Kingdom & in the Royal Academy 22 times. His work is Held in numerous public collections including in the National Maritime Museum.
